Stuff this in your turkey…

While digging through my computer bag pulled out a legal pad full of quotes I’ve heard over the last few weeks. These were either said to me, around me, to others personally or presented as part of a presentation They all hit a strong chord with me at one point or another so I thought I’d share them. Each of them warranted very passionate responses which I’ll keep to myself for fear of melting your face.
- “We are very anti-policy” – Tony Hsieh – CEO – Zappos.com.
- “Book authors of business books aren’t really doing what they are writing about…they are authors..they write books.”
- “I’m not a recruiter or in HR (and never hired anyone personally)….I’m just passionate about the industry.” (answer to the question asked of a participant and presenter at a RECRUITING CONFERENCE)
- “People are pretty bad at predicting what will make them happy.” Tony Hsieh – CEO -Zappos.com
- “No one has the same sense of urgency as yourself.”
- “Giving it away for free means you don’t have the balls to ask for $$.”
- “I hate the term social media.” – Tony Hsieh – CEO – Zappos.com
- “Oh..we don’t pay money..you’ll be compensated in notoriety.”
- Now is pivotal.
- “I know you do the same thing..I just want to make sure there aren’t any conflicts with what I do.”
- “I’m sorry.”
- “Shut up.”
- “Thank you.”
